Call me oblivious, but I had no idea just how expensive weddings were before I started planning ours after my husband and I got engaged in 2015. Between the venue, catering, music, the dress, floral arrangements…it adds up real quick. It seems that just tacking the word “wedding” onto anything automatically doubles the price.

Hi, friends! I’m super excited to announce that today begins the minimalism series here on Katelyn Blogs. My journey to minimalism began a couple months ago after my husband and I moved into a one-bedroom apartment, signed the lease, and then soon after discovered that we were pregnant! Self-care during pregnancy is essential. I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant and in the “sweet spot” of pregnancy. I’m past the not-so-fun first trimester that was filled with never-ending nausea and fatigue, and not quite to the third trimester, which I hear is not so comfortable either as baby grows bigger and the fatigue often returns. During the second trimester, I’ve been making it more of a priority to make time for “me” as we get closer and closer to meeting baby Anderson in October.

I’m not even going to lie, sitting down to actually write this post took me days and days of procrastinating. I’ve been out of the blogging scene for several months now due to the absolute craziness that has been my life since February.
