Happy Saturday and Day 10 of Blogmas!
I was tagged by Katie from Synderellax to do The Christmas Tag! I LOVE reading about everyone’s Christmas traditions and memorable moments, so be sure to share with me if you do The Christmas Tag, because I’m tagging YOU!
- What is your favorite Christmas film?
Definitely The Santa Clause. Growing up, we watched it every single year and it always puts me in the Christmas spirit. If you’ve never seen it, go watch it now! It’s such a cute holiday movie.
- Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes! But living in Oklahoma, white Christmas’s are few and far between! You never know what the weather is going to be like here. If I had my way, it would snow every single Christmas. What’s more Christmasy than that??
- Where do you usually spend your holiday?
In order to visit all the family over the holidays, I spend Christmas Eve at my grandma’s house. Christmas Day is split between my immediate family, my dad’s family, and now, my fiancé’s family! Holidays in my family are always really busy, but are filled with great food, family jokes, and gifts.
- What is your favorite Christmas song?
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You!” Can you blame me?? It’s so catchy and upbeat. I’ll be jamming to this all December, haha.
- Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
As the years have gone by, my siblings and I have slowly persuaded my parents to let us open a gift on Christmas Eve. My favorite tradition we have is the way we open presents. My family takes turns opening gifts one by one. It’s so fun to see someone’s face light up when the unwrap a gift they love!
- Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Um…Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Doner, Blitzen…and of course, Rudolph! Am I missing any?? 😉
- What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Getting our family Christmas tree! We always get a real tree, and have to get it a little later in December so that it doesn’t dry out and lose all of its pine needles. We go to our local Christmas tree farm and walk around until we can all agree on the perfect tree!
- Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Real. See answer 7. 😉 You can’t beat the smell of fresh evergreen!
- What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Oh, goodness. My grandma Pauline’s hot rolls are to die for. Fresh and hot from the oven with a little bit of butter…YUM.
- Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I’m probably one of the few people who will admit that I like receiving gifts better. Haha! Only because I find it extremely hard to shop for a lot of the men in my family, especially my fiancé!
- What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
A hot pink Razr phone. Remember those? Man, I thought I was the coolest kid ever when I unwrapped this one Christmas morning in middle school. This was my first real phone, and looking back, thank God I had unlimited texting. Ha!
- What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
A couple of years ago I went to Breckenridge, Colorado for Christmas and I’d love to go back! We stayed in a cozy cabin, went snowboarding, and every place we went to was within walking distance. Including Starbucks, of course. 😉
- Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I’d like to call myself a pro! I’m a huge perfectionist, so it doesn’t go under the tree unless I’m satisfied with how it looks. To me, wrapping the present and making it look perfect is a lot more fun than shopping for the “perfect” gift.
- Most memorable holiday moment?
When my cousins and I were really young, we used to sing and dance for the entire family after Christmas dinner. Going back and watching those old VHS tapes every year has us rolling with laughter!
- What made you realize the truth about Santa?
One year I found the same wrapping paper that “Santa” had used in my parent’s closet. I wasn’t too upset though. I mean, I still got presents right?
- Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I’m always the girl that is way too optimistic about my New Year’s Eve resolutions. I just can’t help it! January brings out so much hope for me, and I think I can do it all! I’ve followed through on a couple throughout the years, but I’ve learned my lesson about setting unrealistic expectations.
- What makes the holidays special for you?
Being around family, my fiancé, and his family makes the holidays special. Christmas gives me the warm fuzzies. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
