Blogmas Day 2: Self-Care During the Holidays & Too Face’s Grande Hotel Cafe Review

It’s Blogmas Day 2! I was overwhelmed with the response I got to Day 1’s Blogmas Introduction Post. So many of you left encouraging comments and I really feel like this is something that’s bringing the blogging community together. I’ve had a blast reading everyone else’s Blogmas posts and watching Vlogmas YouTube videos so far!

It’s no doubt that this time of year can get a little hectic. Let’s be honest, a lot hectic. I’m trying to balance writing papers and presentations for finals week, moving my fiancé and I into our first apartment together, and now, writing a blog post every single day. Don’t get me wrong though, writing has always been a joy of mine and I look forward to sitting down for an hour or so every day and talking to you all via the Internet.

With all the craziness of December, the finals, the endless holiday parties, Christmas shopping, and more, it can be easy to let yourself and your mental health take the back burner. Honestly, as much as I love Christmas, December usually leaves me pretty frazzled.

This year, I’m being more mindful about practicing self-care during the holidays. One thing that always makes me feel better? Makeup. I don’t know about you, but I’m not one of those people who can wake up 30 minutes before I have to be somewhere and throw on a pair of jeans and a sweater and chug a coffee on the drive.

When I give myself plenty of time to play around with my makeup in the morning, leisurely sipping a cup of coffee and watching YouTube videos, I feel good.

Giving yourself some time to do your thing every day really makes all the difference for your mental health.

Enter: Too Face’s Grande Hotel Cafè Set.

Ulta is the equivalent of a toy store to me, and this set made me feel like a kid on Christmas all over again. Except without the zip-up jammies and the straight-across bangs. (Why, Mom. Why?!)

This set features three palettes for a total of 18 matte and shimmer shadows, two blushes, a bronzer, and Better Than Sex Mascara, all under $50.00!

And did I mention they’re all coffee scented?? #heaven

Eggnog Latte: Let’s start with my favorite. I’m not a huge fan of eggnog, but these colors are right up my alley. I’m obsessed with neutrals and jewel-tones for eyeshadow. Central Perk is definitely going to be on my eyelids this Christmas! I’ve also been playing around with coral blushes, and I have to say that they look pretty good on my fair skin!

Peppermint Mocha: My second favorite and the best smelling of the bunch, this one has pretty browns and pink tones. I haven’t done a pink eyeshadow look that I’m in love with yet, but you can’t go wrong with Christmas Blend.

Gingerbread Cookie: Last but not least, we have Gingerbread Cookie. It smells amazing and I can’t stop using the Gingersnap color. This palette is the only one that comes with a bronzer, and I love that it’s matte and great for a variety of skin tones.

Each one has a place to write “To: and From:” on so these would make a great stocking stuffers for the makeup lovers in your life! But as for me…I’m keeping all of them. 😉

That brings us to todays Blogmas Day 2 Question:

What is your favorite way to practice self-care during the holidays?

Let me know in the comments below. P.S. This post is not sponsored. I just love sharing my favorites with you guys. 🙂

Makeup always makes me feel better, too! 🙂
Those palettes look so pretty, I’m loving that emerald shadow. I bought the Christmas in New York by Too Faced (it was 60% for the cute packaging and 40% for the colors) and I’m a little bummed with the pigmentation of them, but the palette is SO CUTE haha

    • It works wonders for my mood! The emerald shadow is one of my faves! And haha I can totally relate to being influenced by the packaging…I got this set for that reason too! And yeah, the pigmentation is a little less great than I feel the rest of Too Faced products are, but I haven’t been doing any crazy eye makeup looks lately so I guess that works out. I’m guessing it’s because they’re scented? Thanks so much for reading, girl! 🙂
