Whether you’re a college student who has a month off in-between semesters or you’re a working adult who only gets a couple days off of work for Christmas festivities, making the most of your time off is so important to having a fulfilling and relaxing break.
Today I’m going to share a couple ways that you can make the most of your time off this Christmas, because it’s only 7 days away! (Which means 7 days left of Blogmas, guys! Can you believe it??)
Although my finals are done, I’m taking an intercession class this month so I’ll only have a week or two free instead of the usual month between semesters. I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss these lengthy breaks once I graduate college in May!
Without further ado, here are 5 ways to make the most of your Christmas break:
Make a list and check it twice.
Make a list of everything you want to do over break, but be realistic with how much you can get done. I’m the queen of list-making, and am always way too ambitious with how much I want to do that I end up disappointed if I can’t do it all. Write down a few key things that are important for you to do over break. They could be fun things like ice-skating or decorating your family’s annual gingerbread house, or things that need to get done like finishing up your holiday shopping or working on a project.
Photos, photos, photos!
This time of year is crazy busy, but don’t forget to document all of the holiday parties and traditions! Friends and family come together at Christmas time, so snap away. These photos will be great memories for you and your family down the road.
Keep traditions and start a new one.
Christmas traditions are one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Every year, my family goes to the Christmas tree farm to chop down our tree, and we have a blast picking out the perfect one. But as much as we love those old traditions, we aren’t afraid to change it up year to year. This year, we’re celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve in our holiday P.J.’s!
Christmastime is the perfect time to go all out with your clothes and accessories! I’m sporting a red manicure this week and sleeping in my favorite Victoria’s Secret flannel pajamas. It’s the little touches that make you feel extra festive.
Finally, remember that your break is supposed to be just that…a break. Relax and take time to yourself to catch up on reading, naps, Netflix…whatever makes you happy! Enjoy your time off of work and school and spend it with those who make you happy and feel good.
That brings us to today’s Blogmas Question of the Day:
What are your plans for Christmas break?
