I’m not even going to lie, sitting down to actually write this post took me days and days of procrastinating. I’ve been out of the blogging scene for several months now due to the absolute craziness that has been my life since February. I feel that I owe my followers and readers a little explanation as to where I’ve been so here’s a little life update of what’s been going on with me lately:
· I finished my last semester of college and graduated in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications.
I’m sure all of my college readers can relate to just how busy the semester can get, especially when it’s your last one and you’re working part-time and dealing with the work load of all of your classes, including capstone. But hallelujah, I am FINALLY done! I graduated from the same school that my grandfather did decades ago, so it was a huge honor for me, as he passed away during the semester after a long battle with Alzheimers. I’m glad that I could walk across the same stage he did as I know he would’ve been proud of me! My grandfather is honestly one of the biggest reasons I stayed motivated to finish college. If you’re reading this and are currently in college, hang in there! It’s the best feeling when you finish something that you’ve worked toward for years.
· I’m pregnant!
Surprise! This is news if you don’t follow me on social media, (from which I’ve been pretty silent on too since February!) My husband Kasey and I are SO excited to welcome our first little one in October this year. It goes without saying, but the first trimester of pregnancy is NO JOKE, guys. I wasn’t prepared for how much the fatigue and morning sickness would affect me. And while we’re on the subject, let me just say that I have no idea why they call it “morning” sickness, as it happened for me during the first fourteen weeks basically 24/7. Happily, we are 24 weeks along now and I am so relieved to be past all of the sickness as well as have the majority of my energy back.
We are also super excited to announce that we found out a while ago that we are expecting a little boy. Kasey could not be more excited! (Don’t worry- this isn’t going to turn into a mommy blog, although you can expect weekly pregnancy posts and updates once baby Anderson makes his debut!)
· My father was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma cancer.
It was totally out of the blue and needless to say, I have spent the last couple of months with family during this tough time. With that being said, my dad is the toughest guy I know and is making the best out of his situation even during his long stretches of chemotherapy treatment at the hospital. We would really appreciate as many prayers as we can get during this time! I truly believe that God is going to bring good out of this situation somehow.
· And finally…Kasey and I got married!
We got engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2015 but really wanted to wait for me to finish college before we tied the knot. We had a very small, intimate ceremony in a gorgeous garden with immediate family. Living in Oklahoma, I was worried about the possibility of rain that can ruin an outdoor wedding, but luckily it was a gorgeous day and not too hot either. I am so excited to now be Mrs. Anderson, especially after six years of dating! We got married in early May and the day was so special to us.
Hopefully, you can see why I haven’t been able to post to the blog or social media in so long. I am really looking forward to getting back to posting regularly so from here on out you can expect weekly blog posts from me as well as daily social media posts! Make sure you’re following me on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to stay up to date on all the latest. There are some good things coming your way!
If you have any requests for things you would like to see on the blog soon, let me know down below in the comments! I am planning lots of lifestyle and self-care content for the upcoming weeks.
Thank you so much to my loyal readers and followers who continue to stick around, even when things get a little crazy. You are the reason I love blogging!
